Start of Season 2014 – 2015

Hello!

From Wednesday August 13th, our dojo started its new 11th season. Training are, as usual, located at the VUB Sportcomplex. Please check the agenda for correct starting hours since from time to time they are different…

On Wednesday, August 27th, our dojo will welcome the Japanese delegation which is visiting Belgium from August 26th until 31st. We recommend all our members to attend the different training but would ask them to make a special effort to be present when sensei are visiting our own dojo…

Complete ABKF Kendo Summer Seminar schedule is available at www.abkf.be at the “agenda” page.

Enjoy the practise and have fun this year as well!

As said in the previous post, some of our members joined the recent European Kendo Championships. Our Kensaku Maemoto even reached the final of the senior male individual competition. Congratulations!

Let’s return now to regular practice and become even stronger than before…

Belgian Kendo “Dan” Championships 2014 – Angleur

This year, the annual Championship for “Dan” holders was organized by ABKF in the city of Angleur, near Liège.

Even if our main teachers couldn’t be present, the dojo members did a great performance in all categories:

  • Olivier HEREMANS, 2nd place in Junior category
  • Terue MATSUI, 2nd place in Female category
  • Yo KITASHIMA, 3rd place in Female category
  • Yusuke NAKAMURA, 3rd place in Men category
  • Marc NAMECHE, fighting spirit award in Men category

And, last but not least our team got the 3rd place in the Team competition.

Of course, “Thank You” as well to our referees, Stéphan KLUGKIST and Daniel DELEPIERE and our dojo manager Manami NAKATANI who had a long and hard day…

Congratulations! And a big applause to all participants!
